Poster by Palloma Barrento, based on Leslie Ragan “United Nations”
Published in Early 2375, “United Nations” was a propaganda poster created by the Federation Department of Information to celebrate the Allied Powers’ war effort against the Dominion and their allies. Issued at a time when the war still hung in the balance, the poster speaks to the aspirational hope that the war would deliver real, significant change to the galactic order for years to come – once the Founders had been defeated.

1. “The Epsilon Eridani Banner” – Andorian Colonial Concordium
Andorian Colonies along the former DMZ were some of the first to be occupied by Dominion Forces after war was declared; while some were liberated in the aftermath of Operation return, others would be the site of long, bloody battles between the Starfleet Marines and the Jem’Hadar.
2. The Andorian Empire
Founding member of the UFP: orbital shipyards ket producer of combat ships; Fighter Training School established in orbit. The Andor system yards are also the critical production sites of the Peregrine, Seremia and Selhat space control craft.
3. The 3rd Republic of the Rhiannsu (The Romulan Star Empire)
Despite an initial non-aggression pact with the Dominion (and agreements to allow Dominion forces to attack the Federation through their space), the Assassination of Senator [] in mid-2374 would see the Romulans enter the war on the allied side. The Romulan Galon Offensive would end the Battle of Bolarus, and eventually force the Dominion to withdraw from Benzar. Romulan shock troops, as part of the Imperial Expeditionary Force, would play a vital role in the final battles for Cardassia.
4. The United Federation of Planets
The UFP would bear the brunt of the Dominion invasion. For the first time in modern galactic history, her population were also threatened with attack by Dominion raiders and Invasions. War also forced the Federation to massively expand and centralise its’ bureaucracy for the first time to coordinate the mass mobilisation of over 1000 worlds for one cause.
5. Tellar Secundus
Major Tellarite colony world; supplier of major armaments and war equipment. Tellar Secundus would famously set the record for the fastest ship construction in Starfleet history, with the Sabre-Class USS Nepal going from keel to launch in 50 days, 14 hours, 22 minutes and 4 seconds.
6. The United Planets of Tellar
Despite the unpopularity of the war on Tellar, many still rallied to the cause during the Invasion Scares in Summer 2374 and 2375. Tellarite Engineering guilds would also play a vital role in the massive expansion of the Starfleet during the war.
7. The Klingon Empire
The Klingon Empire committed the second-largest naval force, and largest ground force to the allied war effort. The IKDF’s ground assault elements were vital in both battles of Chin’Toka, as well as during the “system hopping” campaign across the Kalandra Sector and former DMZ. Despite internal political strife, the Empire remained committed to the war, aided by massive Federation industrial and Ferengi Economic support.
8. Kelpien Union
Kelpien forces did not actively participate in combat; their territorial force did replace Starfleet patrols in the region, freeing up assets for active combat with the Dominion.
9. Union of the Grazeri
One of several worlds that were raided by the Dominion’s 11th-Benzar-Fleet (Dominion Code: Strike Fleet Epsilon 7) during the Battle of Bolarus.
10. The Bolarus Republic
The target of the Dominon Offensive in early 2375; the tide turned in orbit of the planet, forcing the Dominion to withdraw back to Benzar before they eventually abandoned their foothold.
11. Federal Republic of the Deneva Colony
Early Federation Colony: Threatened by the fall of Betazed, along with most of the core worlds. Deneva would be attacked directly during the Second Battle of Vulcanis, with the capital city sustaining several direct hits from orbital disruptors.
12. The “Colonial Standard” – United Earth Colonies
Representing the earth diaspora. Dozens of earth colonies were attacked or occupied by Dominion forces during the war: Eight in the region of Cardassia and Bajor would be the site of a brutal “system hopping” campaign by the Federation Ground Forces, Starfleet Marines and Klingon Defence Forces.
13. The 2nd Bajoran Republic
Bajor broke its non-aggression agreement with the Dominion after Operation Return. From late 2374 onwards it hosted the 7th Fleet and the Staff HQ of SACCAB (Supreme Allied Commander, Cardiassia and Bajor). Bajorian space was also the key jump-off point for the Chin’Toka campaigns, as well as the final invasion of Cardassian spaces.
14. Regulan Federal States
Regulan merchant mariners performed vital work maintaining Starfleet’s supply lanes throughout the war; nearly 24,000 would be killed by Dominion action during the war.
15. Betazed Houses*
At the time of the posters’ publication, Betazed was entering month eight of its occupation by Dominion Forces. Despite the best attempts of Allied forces, no fleet has been unable to break through to the Betazed system.
16. The Confederacy of Surak (Vulcan)
The First Battle of Vulcanis (or the Battle of Vulcan) was the apex of the Dominion’s first advance into Federation space after the outbreak of war. After a costly eight-week running battle, the Fifth, Eighth or Thirteenth were able to turn back the Dominion Advance.
17. The Shi-Kan Flag – Vulcan Colonies
Representing the Vulcan colonial diaspora. Several Vulcan colonies were attacked and briefly occupied during the Second Battle of Vulcanis (Or the Battle of J’Rai) before the 5th Fleet turned the ‘raid’ back.
18. Trill Assembly
Trill was threatened with invasion during both the Battle of Vulcanis and the Betazed Campaign. As the logistics hub for the 7th and 12th Fleets, it was also the target of several Dominion raids across the mid to late war.
19. Zakdo’a
Zakdo’a would host several tactical training schools and combined fleet colleges during the war.
20. Denobulan Co-Dominion
Threatened with invasion by the fall of Betazed: target of several Dominion terror raids between August 2374 and January 2375.
21. The Centaurus Republic
Like the other planets of the Alpha Centauri System, the Centaurus Republic was the target of the Dominion follow-up from the fall of Betazed. Her fringe colonies were bombarded briefly as well.
22. The Garidian Republic (obscured)
Client State of the Romulan Star Empire; ground forces heavily involved alongside Reman shock troops. Inserted by the artists a subtle nod to the cause of Garidian self-determination.
23. The Rigel Colonies
One of several systems threatened with invasion after the fall of Betazed: as one of the most heavily populated systems in the UFP, Starfleet would invest heavily in major orbital defences through Ri’jil.
24. The Xindi Parliament
The Dominion would attempt to keep the Xindi species out of the war for most of 2374, first with diplomatic promises and then with veiled military threats. Undeclared attacks on Xindi shipping would lead to the Parliament declaring war in September 2374.
25. Sauria
The Sauria “Unis” territorial force would contribute heavily to the UFP’s ground efforts during the war; Saurian troops were amongst the first to face the Jem’Hadar in combat during the 1st Battle of Volon IV.
26. The Asparax Confederation (Heavily Obscursed)
The Asparax Worlds would contribute a small ground force – the Asparax Division – to the war effort. They would fight at 2nd Chin’Toka, and in the final campaign towards Cardassia.
27. The Botchtok Planetary Congress (Orion)**
The Orion government declared war in late 2374 after significant diplomatic pressure from the Federation and Klingons. The Syndicate, however, continued to do business with the Dominion until the treaty of Bajor.
28. Tiburonian Quito
While distant from the frontline, Tiburon would function as a vital waystation linking the Klingon war effort to the UFP. It’s orbital docks were some of the busiests in the Beta Quadrant Federation as ‘Lend-Lease’ goods destined for the Empire intermingled with KDF troop transports heading to the frontlines.
29. The Ferengi Alliance
Fereginar never technically entered the war – there is no legal basis for declaring war in Ferengi law – but their participation in the war effort was recognised by the Allied Powers. Ferengi capital was used to shore up the Klingon economy, while also hampering the economic efforts of the Dominion.
30. Gorn Hegemony***
Initial Gorn Neutrality was nearly scuppered by an internal coup in late 2374; brief hostility was resolved, however. The Hegemony declared war on the Dominion after the Liberation of Betazed.
31. The Alpha Centauri Concordium
Despite massive opposition to the war within Centuari society, the Concordium’s threats to leave the UFP over its’ actions would never been seen through; in fact, after the fall of Betazed the number of volunteers from the planet would increase.
32. United Earth
Earth would be under threat of invasion for most of the war, with only a brief respite after Operation Return. The Breen surprise attack in mid-2375 would cripple the Federation, but only briefly. Casualties from military action on earth would rank 3rd amongst the UFP, behind Betazed and Benzar.
