IN THE RAPTOR’S CLAWS

In The Raptor’s Claws: Earth, Romulus and War that Birth the Federation is the seminal work on the national rivalries and personalities that plunged the Beta Quadrant into the largest war seen until the Dominion War. The book brings to life the great luminaries of the mid-22nd Century: the adventurous test pilot turned admiral turned President Jonathan Archer; the brash Admiral Shran; the calculating President T’Pau and her brilliant foil Administrator T’Pol; and the schemes of the Praetor D’Deridex and the disgraced Valdore.

Professor Zyn ch’Mordan (UNC Chapel-Hill) and his colleagues Dr. Jeksneri Vale (Starfleet Academy) and Ralasha Karre (Federation Interstellar University – New Xindus) capture the story of this era’s triumphs and misunderstandings with verve and a biographer’s care, as they unfold, sometimes as tragedy and other times as farce, with consequences that still echo into today.

ODYSSEY’S END

In 2380, Starfleet would launch a ship that would forever alter its image. Forged in the fires of the Post-Dominion galaxy, the Odyssey Class was the pinnacle of Starfleet ingenuity, and was pinned to lead the Federation into the 25th century. Fate, however, would say otherwise. Gradually, the majestic beasts stopped leaving their ports. Some would be left to the dark for spares, while a select few managed to stay in service. But despite its promise, the Odyssey would be relegated to history only 20 years after it had entered service.

And so the question remains; why? Why would Starfleet build a vessel of such scale and power? What happened to force them out of service? And most importantly, what will Starfleet do with these vessels at Odyssey’s end…

Welcome to Odyssey’s End: The Rise and Fall of the Odyssey Class. This project aims to document the history of the Odyssey Class, from it’s origins in the Dominion War to the fateful events of Frontier Day 2401. As we explore the Odyssey Class, we’ll discover Starfleet’s prior experience with building super-capital vessels, the technologies that made the Odyssey revolutionary and why it’s service ended so soon after it was introduced.

Regular lore updates, wip sections and various other updates can be found over on the Odyssey’s End Blusky, Deviantart and the Tranquility Press Discord Server.

SAN FRANCISCO 2161

47 Days that changed the galaxy and created the United Federation of Planets

The San Francisco Conference of 2161 occurred on Earth between June 26 and August 12, 2161 C.E. During this time, fifteen delegations, fresh from the bloodiest war many of them had ever seen, met to discuss the future. What might such a future look like? What values from more than a dozen delegations representing thousands of political, economic, societal, and scientific traditions would be enshrined in a single, static document? How would bad actors attempt to disrupt the proceedings? Why wouldn’t the Justice Committee let outside folks sit at their lunch table? Most importantly, how do we continue to define and redefine our utopia?

Author of “San Francisco: The First 500 Years” and “NOT ME, US; the Biography of Grethe Zhor”, Aubrey B. Marincola covered the San Francisco Conference as a reporter for the San Francisco Tribune, 2158-2171, communications director for Federation Councillor Lydia LIttlejohn (217) and Camila Benso (2173) before beginning his successful and long running “A Night with…” lecture series through Marquette-Beloit University. During this series, he interviewed dozens of delegates to the San Francisco Conference and more than one hundred observers and attendees.

These nearly two decades of work, and his own personal notes of the conference, provide the bulk of new insights in this electrifying, fresh telling of the conference that birthed the Federation. Through anecdotes, recently declassified documents, and personal insight, Marincola helps us understand the personalities and characters that provided the blueprint for the United Federation of Planets. Though it ended in a small compromise, it began in large dreams.

FROM THE ASHES

The Fall and Rise of the Romulan Empire, 2315-2415

From the Ashes is a long-form in-universe history, chronicling the history of the Romulan Empire from 2315 to 2415, written from the perspective of a Federation historian and/or pundit. In doing so it attempts to marry the disparate events of canon with the plethora of Beta canon sources, primarily Star Trek Online and the Diane Duane Rihannsu novels.
